National: Boy, 7, dies in tragic swimming pool incident

A 7-year-old boy has died following a tragic incident in a swimming pool.

The incident happened at Killaloe, County Clare yesterday.

Emergency services attended the scene at around 3pm yesterday afternoon, with the boy being transferred to University Hospital Limerick where he later died.

It’s understood the boy had been attending a birthday party at the facility when the accident occurred.

Gardaí say they are treating the incident as a “tragic accident”.
