Donegal Minors defeated by Down in Ulster Championship

Down 3-9 v 1-6 Donegal

It was a first defeat of the provinical season for Donegal’s Minor footballers, as they were defeated by Down this afternoon.

Donegal were soundly defeated in the clash helf at Pairc Esler in Newry.

Despite a first-half goal from Colm Ó Dochartaigh, Donegal still trailed 1-1 to 1-5 at the break as Down’s Darragh Poland slotted home an early chance.

Down were able to compound Donegal’s misery in the second half, with a second goal from Darragh Poland and a Liam Blaney strike comfortably sealing the game for the home side.

Donegal’s next clash in the Minor Championship is against Monaghan next Saturday.
