Frank McBrearty and Martin Harley have been returned to their seats on Donegal County Council.

McBrearty (Ind) gained a massive 445 transfers following the distribution of Niall McConnell’s 1,127 votes to bring his total to 1,939. Harley received another 62 to take him to 1,638, surpassing the quota by just nine votes.

That leaves just three candidates to fill the two remaining seats: Patrick McGowan (FF) on 1,474, Dakota Nic Mheanman (SF) on 1,321 and Gerry Crawford (FF) on 1,213.

Martin Harley celebrates his re-election with family and supporters.
