Lifford-Stranorlar: Rebecca McDaid and Garvan Connolly eliminated after Counts 1&2

The first two candidates in the Lifford-Stranorlar LEA have been eliminated following Counts 1&2 at the Finn Valley Centre in Stranorlar.

Rebecca McDaid (Aontu) was eliminated following Count 1 and Garvan Connolly (FG) after Count 2.

The 434 votes of Rebecca McDaid (Aontu) have been distributed to leave the current standing as follows:

Martin Scanlon (Ind) who topped the poll in yesterday’s tallies is still in the lead on 1,458 and is edging closer to the 1,629 quota in order to be elected.

He is followed by Martin Harley (FG) on 1,285, Frank McBrearty (Ind) on 1,253, Gary Doherty (SF) on 1,215, Patrick McGowan (FF) on 1,198, Gerry Crawford (FF) on 1,010, Niall McConnell (Ind) on 971, Charles Ward (100% Redress) on 939, Dakota Nic Mheanman (SF) on 874 and Tony McDaid (SF) on 638.

Niall McConnell (+91) was the biggest winner from McDaid’s transfers from Count 1.

Gavan Connolly’s (FG) 533 votes will now be distributed.
