A west Donegal music producer, who operates under the name ‘Transmission 13’, has recently released his 11th album.
Maurice Doogan, from Dungloe, has been the recipient of critical acclaim for many of his previous releases and has collaborated with musicians from around the world.
His latest offering, ‘Leictreoniac’, was released on the Bandcamp platform.
His music is in the electronic/ambient/atmospheric genre and has been influenced, he says, by the beauty of Donegal – in particular, the albums Shore and The Edge of the World. Musically, he is influenced by artists such as Brian Eno, Mogwai and Joy Division.
“Many tracks of mine have a ‘Donegal’ reference in the titles, such as Sleeve League, Wild Atlantic and Malin Head,” he told Donegal Daily.
“My new album has some Irish Gaelic references with titles such as Leictreoniac and Iontaise.”
