The application process can be completed within just a few minutes online. Businesses can apply for one or more categories by answering a few questions and making their case for why they should win.

Applications are open until the 1st of July. Shortlisted finalists will be announced from September onwards, and the winners will be announced at the glittering gala event that takes place on the 15th November in The Silver Tassie Hotel.

Letterkenny Chamber President Claire McDonough explained that there is great enthusiasm for this year’s awards.

“The Letterkenny Chamber Business Awards is the biggest event of the year for the business community. The awards are designed to celebrate all types and sizes of business. Last year the awards event was a fantastic celebration, the competition was strong and there was so much energy and enthusiasm around the awards and the gala event.”

“Sponsorship is so important to the Letterkenny Chamber Business Awards as Claire explained, “This year we are delighted to announce that Eirgrid has returned as our Main/Platinum Sponsor. “

“All our Category/Silver Sponsors have returned again this year and we have made a few changes. This ongoing endorsement shows the importance of the competition and the event to the Letterkenny and the wider County. This support enables Letterkenny Chamber to bring the awards to a new level and the Chamber are proud to deliver on such a prestigious event.”

Sinéad Dooley, the Head of Public Engagement at EirGrid explained their involvement in the awards:

“We are proud to support the Letterkenny Chamber Business Awards once again, as lead sponsors for 2024.”

“While working to progress Grid upgrades in the Northwest, ensuring a sustainable and secure electricity future for the region, EirGrid has engaged closely with businesses, industries and communities across Letterkenny and Donegal County.”

“Through our ongoing association with Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce, we have seen the incredible ambition of local businesses, all working towards a bright future for their local economy, their employees, and their families.”

“I would like to wish all entrants the very best of luck and look forward to seeing you at the Awards later this year.”

The awards were launched officially by former Mayor of the Letterkenny Milford Municipal District Cllr. Kevin Bradley at the event that was held in Century Cinema, with sponsors and other key stakeholders celebrating the success of the awards to date at the launch.

Andrea Devin, owner of Andrea Devin’s Opticians was an award winner in 2023 and she is encouraging businesses to apply.

“Awards are a recognition of our success. As a small and fairly new business awards like this really assist in our promotion strategy. The coverage during and after the awards was excellent and gave us added confidence in our business and promotional activities.”

Many of the category sponsors have been with the awards from the beginning. Fionnuala McBride, AIB that sponsors the Sustainable Superstar Award said that “the Letterkenny Chamber Business Awards are an excellent recognition of the business success we see in the County. The awards also align with the bank’s key objectives in supporting businesses of all types and sizes. Each year we see businesses from across the county being recognised for doing what they do best and we are always pleased to support the Chamber in this endeavour.”

Toni Forrester, Letterkenny Chamber CEO, is encouraging businesses to apply today.

“We have introduced a few changes this year and have just recently launched the Employee of the Year sponsored by Donegal ETB, where each month a valued employee will be honoured and in November we will announce the winner. We have also added, Best Disability Inclusion Award in recognition of the valuable work going on in companies as they integrate and embrace diversity.”
