An Inishowen native has been announced as the new Principal of Scoil Mhuire Buncrana.

Ms Evelyn McLaughlin has been appointed to the post.

She will succeed the popular Ms Rosaleen Grant on September 1st.

Ms Grant is retiring after 40 years of service.

Ms McLaughlin was appointed to the role as Principal after a successful spell in the same role at a school in Dublin for the last 10 years.

On social media, Scoil Mhuire thanked the outgoing Ms Grant for her “exemplary” service for the school during her career, and wished all the best to Ms McLoughlin as she takes up the helm.
