Buncrana man killed in workplace accident was a much-loved father of two

A man killed in a workplace accident in Buncrana has been named locally as Anthony Devlin, a popular local father of two.

Mr Devlin of Dun Na Ri, aged in his 30s, suffered serious injuries while carrying out mechanical work at a premises in the Illies on Tuesday evening. He later passed away at the scene.

Condolences are being shared with his loving fiancé Grainne, his cherished sons Joe and Odhran, his loving parents Philip and Una, his sisters Tara, Tina, Leanne, brother in law Ian, his granny Annie Devlin, his many friends and the wider family circle at this difficult time.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has launched an investigation into the tragic incident. A post-mortem has been completed today.

Funeral Details:

Anthony’s remains will be leaving the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Letterkenny, F92 XE35 today (Wednesday) at 4pm going to his parents Philip and Una’s home Sarida, Ballymagan, Buncrana. Anthony’s remains will be reposing from 11am on Thursday, 11th July, where you are welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from the family home at 10am on Saturday, 13th July, going to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill for 11 am Requiem Mass with Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family Time from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral. Family flowers only. Funeral can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/cockhill
