Concern over ‘mystery sprayer’ vandalising property in Falcarragh

The Falcarragh community has been asked to stay vigilant following recent incidents of graffiti vandalism.

Road signs and buildings in the Moyra and Fanmore areas have been daubed in spray paint in recent days.

Local councillor Michael Mc Clafferty said the behaviour must be stopped.

Cllr Mc Clafferty said: “The mysterious sprayer has been out painting our road signs with their well-known red paint. These signs are an important feature for our communities and Donegal County Council do not have the funding to be replacing them.

“I have a list of signs that I have requested for various areas and I have been told the funding isn’t there at present for them – this is before the replacement signs are even considered.”

Private properties have also been damaged, Cllr Mc Clafferty said.

“Vandalism and damages to private properties and homes have also been carried out. This behaviour is extremely concerning and worrying. I urge anyone that may have any information regarding this spate of concerning activities to please contact the local Garda.
