Tory islanders turned out in force on Saturday for the official opening of a fascinating new exhibition by world-renowned photojournalist, Eric Luke.

‘Looking Back, Tory Island’, which features some never-seen-before photographs of the island and its inhabitants, was unveiled at the island’s Community Centre. Mr Luke, a Dublin native, described his Tory work as a ‘long-term project since 1977.’

The exhibition showcases a beautiful selection of photographs from the 1970s up to the present day.

Eric Luke’s career in photojournalism spans almost five decades. He has covered major news events, including two World Cups, five Olympic Games, and other news and feature stories both in Ireland and worldwide.

Eric has won numerous awards, including the World Press Photo News Award and PPAI Photographer of the Year, over a forty-year career in photojournalism.

The Exhibition will run from the 13th July to 28th July, from 12 noon to 5pm.
