Rathmullan is gearing up for an unforgettable August Bank Holiday weekend as it prepares to host its 24th Annual Community Festival and Regatta.

This seaside gem, renowned for its festival, is the place from 2nd to 4th August 2024, as the town comes alive with a vibrant array of activities for all ages.

And if you happen to be near Rathmullan on the August Bank Holiday weekend then it promises to be extra special with so much to do and see.

The town hosts its 24th Annual Community Festival from 2nd – 4th August 2024 with some pre-festival events to enjoy this week. The festival culminates in the impressive Regatta, which takes place on Monday, 5th August.

With a packed schedule of events, including a lively festival parade, thrilling sports and football competitions, a charming Scruffs dog show, and a creative sandcastle and sculpture competition, there’s something to entertain everyone.

Music lovers are in for a treat with a fantastic lineup of live performances. The festival kicks off on Friday night with a fantastic parade of floats led by the Letterkenny Pipe Band at 8pm, followed by sets from Trevor Loughrey and the Ryan Turner Band.

Saturday is a day of unmissable sports at the pitch from 11am – 4pm.

Saturday evening promises to be a party with performances from Paul Ward and the Humble Earthworm, followed by My Generation Band and the James Peak Band.

Music and entertainment starts on Sunday from 1.15pm. The evening entertainment features The Outlaws Country band at 6pm before the headline act, Mickey Sands, transporting audiences back to the sensational 70s. The evening will conclude with a high-energy set from the Pat Gallagher Band (Goat’s Don’t Shave).

The action continues on Monday 5th August with Regatta boat races and music from the Knotty Pine String Quartet Band (3.30pm).

The vast majority of all the events are free but collectors will be asking for the odd donation around the town.

Plus, you can support RNLI and Rathmullan First Responder Group by entering the festival draw! Lines will be on sale all weekend – €2 each or 3 for €5.
