Update 3pm: The road has reopened.
A road closure has been lifted from N56 outside Dunkineely on the Bruckless Road this Tuesday morning following a collision.
A woman in her 70s suffered serious injuries in the collision at Killaghtee, Dunkineely on Monday evening.
A man in his 30s was also taken to hospital for treatment following the three-vehicle crash.
Gardaí issued this message to road users this morning: “We are aware that the road in question would usually see HGV traffic early in the morning time and so we wish to advise drivers of these types of vehicles to please avoid the area altogether and to travel via Ardara as the diversion route is quite narrow. The diversions in place are suitable for other traffic/smaller vehicles. Please take an alternative route if possible.”
