A driver has been arrested after being caught 66 km/h over the speed limit.
Gardaí from the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit caught the driver on Friday evening as part of their Bank Holiday road safety operations.
After being detected at 166 km/h in a 100 km/h zone, they were arrested and handed a court appearance.
It marks one of the highest speeds that Gardaí have detected this Bank Holiday weekend.
The highest currently was a driver caught at 186 km/h in County Kilkenny.
