Young person assaulted in Clonmany during festival week

An investigation is underway after a young man was attacked on Main Street, Clonmany in the early hours of Thursday the 8th of August.

The male youth was assaulted by another male sometime between midnight and 12.30am on the night in question.

The victim’s injuries are described as non-life threatening.

Gardaí are seeking witnesses to the alleged assault which occurred during a busy week in the town while the Clonmany Festival was taking place.

A garda appeal said: “If anybody witnessed the incident or if they have any relevant information, we ask them to make contact with Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540.”
