Gardaí are warning that they will be tough on illegal parking as crowds flock to the Summer Sessions this week in Letterkenny.
The major concert series takes place at Kiltoy from Thursday to Sunday, with Kneecap, The Wolfe Tones and Qween among the headlining acts.
To ensure as little disturbance to local stakeholders and residents as possible, Gardaí will be adopting a ‘zero tolerance approach’ to parking infringements in the environs of the venue.
Patrons are asked not to park on the N56 (Ballyraine to Knocknamona roundabout), Gortlee road, Kiltoy road or in any other area which may cause disruption to local residents.
“Do not park in an illegal manner and ensure that you are not blocking access for emergency services,” gardaí warned.
Several park and ride services will be available which are being organised by event management and these should be utilised where possible. These services will be advertised on all of the Summer Sessions Social Media pages.
“Gardaí at Letterkenny Garda Station are working closely with the organisers of the event and other state agencies to ensure that it is a success. Our main priority is to ensure that everyone attending has a safe and an enjoyable time,” a garda notice said.
