A Graduation Day and Summer Party for the Little Blue Heroes within the Donegal Division took place yesterday at Rockhill House Estate in Letterkenny.

The Honorary Garda recruitment is run by the Little Blue Heroes Foundation.

Chief Superintendent Goretti Sheridan made presentations to all the little Gardaí.

Memorial presentations were also made to the families of Honorary Garda (HG) Eoin Brogan, HG Caoimhe Kelly and HG Eoin Arnold (R.I.P.) who will forever remain an important part of the Little Blue Heroes family.

“Most of our little heroes and their proud families were in attendance today. We missed the company of the few H/Gardaí & their families who couldn’t attend, but there will be other events and we look forward to seeing you all at them,” a garda spokesperson said.

Superintendent Grant and Superintendent Duffy were also delighted to attend yesterday’s event as were the Garda Buddies and the many volunteers.

“What a fantastic day of laughter, good food, magic, face painting, animal handling, bouncy castles, ice cream, sensory activities and music! Precious memories were certainly made today, and that is mainly because of the hard work of Sergeant Charlene Anderson (Divisional Rep for the Little Blue Heroes) and also the help of many others. We applaud you all.”

The very many smiling faces all evening made it all worth it and more! The Garda Mounted Unit travelled to Donegal to be there for the kids and their families and the organisers wished to thank them as everyone enjoyed seeing the magnificent horses.

A bit thanks also to Raphoe Ulster-Scots Pipe band for their wonderful contribution, DJ Marty Friel and to the Ukrainian Children’s Choir who sang beautifully for all in attendance. “Our thanks to all at Rockhill House for the wonderful venue and for their attention to detail. There are so many to thank but too many to thank personally,” the spokesperson added.

“We want you all to know that we appreciate every effort that was made for our Little heroes and their families because they so deserve it.

“To all of our Little blue Heroes, we wish to say that we are so proud of you all! You really are our heroes.”
