Emotions high as GAA club says final goodbye to their much loved number 13 Evan

It was a final farewell and one which paid the ultimate tribute to tragic GAA player Evan Craig.

Evan, who was just 24, was laid to rest yesterday after a brave battle with cancer.

But now it has been revealed that his clubmates at Naomh Padraig in Muff pulled off the ultimate tribute by forming his number 13 in a human configuration around Evan’s coffin on the club’s pitch.

The club later released the pictures on their social media.

And they accompanied the heartbreaking pictures with an emotional farewell to the young man who they were proud to call a brother.

The social media message read “One of the hardest days we have seen at Naomh Padraig bidding farewell to one of life’s greatest human beings to have walked amongst us.

“Some people may have been shoulders above him in height but nothing matched Evan’s grit, determination, positivity and zest for life.

“We are all the emptier tonight loosing you Evan but memories run deep and stories become legendary. You will always be part of us forever and we won’t walk alone.”

May he rest in peace.
