Saint Eunan’s Cathedral is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors from all parishes this October for the first ever visit to Ireland of the holy relics of Saint Bernadette of Lourdes.

The relics will be hosted in St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny from Friday 11th October to Sunday 13th October.

This very special once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enable people of all ages to experience the special gifts and charisms of Lourdes in their local diocese, praying with relics of the young visionary, Bernadette Soubirous, to whom the Virgin Mary appeared 18 times.

Several sacraments and ceremonies have been scheduled at St Eunan’s Cathedral to celebrate the historic arrival of the relics. (Timetable below)

Volunteers from throughout the Diocese are needed to help ensure the success of the pilgrimage. Volunteers are especially needed for the Hospitality Tent, and singers and musicians are also required. Parish groups from across the Diocese are invited to cover one hour during the Night Vigil.

To expedite the petition process, please write your petitions prior to your visit and refrain from including any money with them. All petitions will be sent to Lourdes.

Anyone who can volunteer time to assist with any of these efforts, please contact the Parish Office at 0749121021.
