Donegal has claimed nine spots on the Irish News GAA All-Star lists for 2024.

Six men’s senior footballers made it into the All-Star XV, a fine achievement as the rest of the lineup came from All-Ireland champions Armagh.

Brendan McCole, Peadar Mogan, Caolan McGonagle, Michael Langan, Oisin Gallen and Niall O’Donnell all made the All-Star team, as the senior men’s footballers saw a resurgence under Jim McGuinness.

Donegal’s Ladies footballers also claimed two nominations in the LGFA All-Star team, with Abigail Temple Asokuh’s fine perfomances in defence and the ever-present star forward Niamh McLaughlin earning places.

Meanwhile Steven McBride earned a place in the All-Star team for Donegal’s Hurlers, in a year where they claimed the Nicky Rackard Cup.

Men’s Football: Brendan McCole (Full-back), Peadar Mogan, Caolan McGonagle (Half-back), Michael Langan (Midfield), Oisin Gallen, Niall O’Donnell (Full-forward)

Ladies’ Football: Abigail Temple Asokuh (Full-back), Niamh McLaughlin (Half-forward)
