The Raphoe Diocese is seeking volunteers for a variety of services during the visit of the holy relics of Saint Bernadette of Lourdes.

The relics will be hosted in St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny from Friday 11th October to Sunday 13th October.

Stewarts and helpers are needed to manage the large numbers expected.

Volunteers are especially needed for the Hospitality Tent. Parish groups from across the Diocese are invited to cover one hour during the Night Vigil. Anyone who can volunteer is asked to please contact the Parish Office at 0749121021 on Monday (9am – 4.30pm) or Tuesday (9am – 1pm).

This Relic Pilgrimage is a special once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enable people of all ages to experience the special gifts and charisms of Lourdes in their local diocese, praying with relics of the young visionary, Bernadette Soubirous, to whom the Virgin Mary appeared 18 times.

Several sacraments and ceremonies have been scheduled at St Eunan’s Cathedral to celebrate the historic arrival of the relics. The relics are visiting each of the 26 Catholic dioceses on the island of Ireland this autumn.

To expedite the petition process, people are asked to place write your petitions prior to your visit and refrain from including any money with them. All petitions will be sent to Lourdes.
