Three Donegal hotels have been recognised as part of Ireland’s 26 top places to stay by Tripadvisor.

Harvey’s Point, the Shandon Hotel and Mill Park Hotel have all been awarded with a Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best award, which Tripadvisor says celebrates the highest level of excellence in travel.

The travel review platform give the award to “those who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period. Out of our 8 million listings, fewer than 1% achieve this milestone.”

Harvey’s Point recevied high praise for its picturesque lakeside location and its inviting nature by Tripadvisor reviewers.

It also recieved great feedback for its “spacious, well-appointed accommodations, including premium suites with top-notch amenities.”

The hotel’s picturesque grounds, the dining experience, its spotlessly clean environment and potential as a wedding venue also were well received by reviewers.

The Shandon Hotel 2023

The Shandon Hotel and Spa was described by Tripadvisor as “…a prime spot for relaxation with its modern design, luxurious accommodations, and breathtaking views.”

The range of spa facilites available at the hotel such as their thermal spa, jacuzzi, tennis court, steam room, sauna and fitness centre were all praised by visitors – as were the “spacious and clean seaview rooms” which beautifully display Marble Hill Strand and Rosguill Peninsula’s beauty.

Outdoor activities were also a plus, and the restaurant at the Shandon was praised for its “top quality food and impeccable service, creating a tranquil and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone, including families and those with reduced mobility.”

In short, according to Tripadvisor; “this hotel is truly a brilliant blend of comfort and value.”

The Mill Park Hotel meanwhile was lauded as “a lovely spot that strikes the perfect balance between modern design and warm hospitality” by Tripadvisor.

Its location recieved praise for being near to many attractions in the locality, including horseback riding and hiking trails.

The hotel also can boast spacious accomodations and comfortable beds, as well as plenty of leisure facilities with an indoor heated pool, spa and steam room.

Its restraurant also received rave reviews from Tripadvisor vistors, with delicious food and “helpful and welcoming staff.”
