Traffic delays are expected in Burt and the surrounding areas this afternoon, as the funeral of Kyle McDermott takes place.

Kyle’s family say that delays are expected between 1:30pm and 3pm, as the cortege makes its way to and from St Aengus’ Church, Burt.

His funeral mass takes place at 2pm, with interment afterwards in Burt Cemetery.

The 24-year-old died last week after a violent altercation outside his home in Ballymagorry, Strabane.

Daniel Patrick Hanna, of Victoria Road in Strabane, appeared at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday accused of his manslaughter.

Hanna was remanded in custody and the case is due to be heard again on 31st October.
