Killybegs Coast Guard were called into action early this morning to assist a person who suffered a leg injury onboard a Spanish fishing vessel.

The incident unfolded at 4am when Malin Head Coast Guard tasked the coast guard unit to assist.

Responding swiftly, the Killybegs Coast Guard team carefully transferred the casualty from the vessel to paramedics from the National Ambulance Service (NAS), who were standing by to provide further medical care.

“Killybegs Coast Guard wish the crew member a speedy recovery,” a spokesperson said.
