A Donegal woman has launched a Christmas appeal to help families in Donegal that are struggling near the holiday season.
This year marks the fifth year where Orla Neely has organised the appeal, which this year is especially focused on essentials for young families who may need a helping hand.
Orla says that previous appeals have seen an average of 80 food boxes put together, as well as full containers of toiletries and baby essentials.
As the cost of living crisis continues to tighten the pursestrings of many local families, the appeal calls for some festive and other essentials to make this time of year a little brighter.
The appeal is seeking the following to be donated:
Any non perishable foods – i.e. pasta, sauces, diluting juices, jam , sugar, tea, coffee etc
Boxes of biscuits
Tins of sweets
Selection boxes
Nappies/wipes/toiletries
New packs of baby grows or vests
