Raphoe Hockey Club brought plenty of intensity in a fiesty outing against Newry this week, as their league season continued.
Raphoe faced the long away journey to Newry, with both sides also providing umpires due to a shortage of branch umpires for the fixture.
The first half was tightly contested, with neither side able to make a breakthrough.
In the third quarter Raphoe started out well and created some quality chances – but were left ruing their misses as Newry struck from a short corner.
However Raphoe finally came good in the final quarter, Matthew Lecky slotting home following a mistake from Newry to secure the draw in a tightly-faught encounter.
Elsewhere, Raphoe’s second men’s team ran out 3-1 winners against Saintfield, and their third XI played out a 4-4 draw against Civil Service.
