No end in sight to ongoing McGrory’s Brae roadworks

There seems no end in sight for long-suffering motorists to the ongoing roadworks at McGrory’s Brae.

Works ‘lasting nine months’ commenced in early January to construct a new 750 metre hard shoulder on the stretch of the N15 between Donegal town and Ballybofey. The development was to be completed in September, but is still continuing.

Temporary traffic lights have been in place since January 4th.

We have asked Donegal County Council when the works would be completed.

Last year, the Finn Wheelers Cycling Club and their counterparts in Donegal town demanded the construction of a hard shoulder on the steep climb known locally as McGrory’s Brae.

Currently, a 750 metre section of the hill does not have a hard shoulder or climbing lane.
