Athletes from Letterkenny AC successfully tackled the Ulster Novice Cross Country Championships last week.

Both the men’s and women’s teams tackled and completed a tough course at the Finn Valley.

The Letterkenny AC women’s Ulster Novice Cross Country team was comprised entirely from members of the club’s Fit4Life group, as Clodagh Sammon, Louise McKeague, Stella McCole and Denise Gallagher battled their way to the finish line.

The Letterkenny AC men’s Ulster Novice Cross Country team comprising of Dale Corbett, Peter Gallagher, Cian Friel and Stephen Gibson also all put in a huge effort on a challenging course.

Elsewhere, the club extended its congratulations to member Barry Mackey who took 11 minutes off his personal best in the Dublin City Marathon last weekend running a superb time of 3:14. Barry, along with his clubmates ran to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease Ireland dedicating their run to the memory of the late Aidan McGlynn.

LAC are hosting running sessions from the Aura Leisure Centre on a Tuesday at 5.15pm and 6.30pm for interval running sessions, a Thursday evening hill run at 6pm, Saturday mornings at 9.30am for a tempo run and Sunday mornings at 8am for a long run.

Fit 4 Life which is run by LAC in conjunction with the Donegal Sports Partnership takes place every Monday at 6pm on the track at the Aura Leisure Centre Letterkenny.
