John McNulty – Delivering for Donegal with honesty and integrity

I’m John McNulty. Raised in Kilcar, a Gaeltacht village in South-West Donegal, I’ve built my life around family, service, and leadership.

My values are deeply rooted in the importance of community, honesty, and integrity – principles I will bring to my work as your representative. Donegal deserves dedicated leadership that puts people and community first.

As a self-employed business owner, with premises in Stranorlar and Carrick, I understand that thriving local businesses are the backbone of a strong rural economy. I’m committed to supporting small and medium businesses, working to create an environment where local enterprises can flourish, and jobs are retained and created locally, making Donegal an even better place to live and work.

My passion for football and the GAA has afforded me the privilege of managing various teams across South-West Donegal, and I’m honoured to currently manage the Donegal County Ladies Football Team. This experience in sports management has strengthened my ability to lead, foster commitment, and inspire others. Whether on the pitch or in the community, I’ve always believed in supporting those around me and working together to achieve success. Ní neart go cur le chéile – there is no strength without unity.

I’m here to offer Donegal a candidate with real-life experience, a strong work ethic, true leadership qualities, and a deep sense of pride of place in Donegal.

My Key Priorities:

Strengthening rural sustainable communities: My focus will be on strengthening Agriculture, Fisheries, Tourism, and Connectivity, sectors which are crucial for sustaining rural living and fostering vibrant, resilient communities.

Supporting Businesses: Strengthening small and medium businesses to boost Donegal’s economy.

Community Empowerment: Putting people and community first, working together for success.

Sports & Wellbeing: Promoting sports to build strong, connected communities.
