For the first time, electrical apprenticeships are being delivered in Killybegs by Atlantic Technological University (ATU).

It’s an exciting move for the future of the industry, and it’s a huge opportunity for those already qualified who are seeking to share knowledge of their trade.

If you’d like to be part of empowering the next generation of electricians, ATU wants to hear from you.

The university is recruiting experienced electricians for full-time permanent roles including Assistant Lecturer and Technicians in Electrical Apprenticeships in both Killybegs and Letterkenny.

If you’re seeking a change of role, a better work-life balance, and the comfort of indoor work, consider the rewarding career path of supervising apprentices and shaping the future of the electrical industry.

This is your chance to make a lasting impact on the electrical industry, enjoy predictable hours, gain greater job security with excellent benefits, including pension, holidays, and summer breaks, and earn a competitive salary based on your experience.

Applicants should have at least five years of experience and a Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate in Electrical.

Perhaps you have spent decades on the sites and want to share your knowledge, or you are a young newly qualified electrician with a passion for teaching? ATU supports staff with ample professional development opportunities, so you can upskill in teaching and learning while you work.

The Killybegs apprenticeship programme will train nearly 300 apprentices annually, significantly benefiting the region’s economy.

Emmett Kerr, Head of Department of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering at Atlantic Technological University, said: “We are excited about the expansion of ATU’s Killybegs campus with Electrical Apprenticeships being facilitated from our state-of-the-art facilities.

“If you are an Electrician with 5+ years of experience why not apply to join our excellent team and teach the next generation of electricians?”

To tour the facilities and speak to staff in the Department of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, come along to the Recruitment Information Evening at ATU Donegal’s Killybegs campus on Monday, 18th November from 5pm to 7.30pm or visit atu.ie/jobs or contact recuitment@atu.ie for more details.
