Elderly pedestrian seriously injured after Bruckless collision

A woman in her 70s has been seriously injured after being struck by a car in Bruckless.

The incident happened yesterday evening at 6:10pm, on the N56 road through the village.

Gardaí say the elderly woman was transferred to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

They say their investigations into the collision are currently ongoing.

The road through Bruckless remains closed today.

Diversions and a stop-go system are in place there currently.
