Milford school hosts another brilliant Santa Walk to help those less well-off

If you happened to be in Milford last Friday and spotted hundreds of Santa lookalikes, you weren’t having an early Christmas panic attack.

That’s because Loreto Community School went on their annual Santa 5km walk in aid of Mary’s Meals.

This year, the school is sponsoring Mwami Ece school in Zambia where 249 children will get a meal in their school each day for an entire school year.

Congratulations goes to the LCA class who organised the event from start to finish.

Special guest was Patricia Friel, head of Mary’s Meal Ireland at the school, who attended the 5km walk and who also gave a very insightful talk to students about the excellent work Mary’s Meals is involved in.

The student council and LCA students provided the hot chocolates and crepes when students returned from their walk.

A massive thanks was also given to Milford Gardaí for their help on the day.
