One driver has had their car seized and several other motorists were issued fines as part of a roads policing operation in Inishowen yesterday.

Gardaí, accompanied by colleagues from the RSA, Revenue, and waste enforcement officers from Donegal County Council, carried out a number of checkpoints along the Inishowen peninsula.

Fines were issued for a number of irregularities, including cars with insufficient tread depth on their tyres.

Also, a vehicle was seized after it was noted turning away from one of the Garda checkpoints.

Gardaí found that the car in question had no tax, insurance, or NCT.
