Inishowen League 2 -2 Donegal League

It was honours even in the first leg of the Oscar Traynor Cup between the Donegal League and the Inishowen League this afternoon.

Both sides played in miserable conditions for football at Buncrana’s Maginn Park.

Luke Rudden got the opener for the Inishowen League in the 24th minute, but that lead would only last for five minutes as Eddie O’Reilly found the equaliser for the Donegal League.

There were fireworks to begin the second half of play, as BJ Banda found his way through the Inishowen defence to put the Donegal League ahead for the first time in the 48th minute.

Just two minutes later however the Inishowen side were awarded a penalty that was expertly slotted home by Lee McColgan.

Neither side could find a way to break the deadlock however, and it ended 2-2 with the second leg upcoming in January.
