Breaking: Icy conditions disrupt morning travel (Wednesday)

Several school bus services have cancelled morning runs today (Wednesday) due to icy conditions.

Black ice is again affecting many areas. Snow is also causing difficulties on higher ground in Donegal.

Some of the large transport operators such as McGettigan Travel in Letterkenny, Patrick Gallagher school coaches, Home James buses are cancelled this morning.

A small number of pre-schools, national schools and post-primary schools have announced they are closed. Parents are advised to check messages from schools and pre-schools for confirmation.

Donegal County Council’s gritters have been treating main roads across the county from 6am this morning.
