Eamon McGee to open up on personal battles in Laochra Gael

All-Ireland winning Donegal legend Eamon McGee will be appearing on the new series of Laochra Gael this year on TG4.

The Gaoth Dobhair pundit will be the subject of the series finale in March.

The programme will explore McGee’s famous tenacity and strength which made him a formidable presence in the Donegal backline.

However, life has not always been straightforward for Eamon, and he has faced many personal battles that added complexity to his life both on and off the field.

GAA was an escape for Eamon during his playing days, and his determination to get back to his best came to fruition in 2012, when he won an All-Ireland medal for his county, under Jim McGuinness’ charges.

Among those who contribute to the show will be Eamon’s brother Neil; Anne McElheney; Rory Kavanagh; Brian McEniff; Joanne Gillen; Stephen O’Neill; Steven McDonnell; Kieran Cunningham; Damien Ó Dónaill; Daisy, Luca and Evie McGee.

Laochra Gael, now in its 23rd series, resumes on Thursday evenings starting January 23rd.

Programme eight starring Eamon McGee is on Thursday 13th March at 9.30pm.
