Donegal ETB make key appointment at Gaoth Dobhair Training Centre

Donegal Education and Training Board (ETB) has appointed Mr Aiden Coll to the post of Assistant Training Centre Manager in its Further Education and Training ( FET ) Service at its Gaoth Dobhair Training Centre.

Hailing from Falcarragh, Aidan has worked with Donegal ETB since 2017 as an Electrical Instructor in the Gaoth Dobhair Training Centre, delivering Phase 2 Electrical Apprenticeship training courses.

Prior to that he worked as an Electrical Contractor for fifteen years, with a vast array of experience.

Aiden will now be part of the Senior Management team with responsibility for a variety of programs across the FET Service.

Donegal ETB’s extensive Further Education and Training (FET) Service catered for almost 19,000 students in 2024 across a network of eighteen FET Centers and numerous other venues across the county and its islands, providing education and training from Levels 1-6 on the National Framework of Qualifications.

Speaking about his new appointment, Aidan said, “I am delighted and extremely proud to have been appointed as an Assistant Manager with Donegal ETB within the FET Service. I am excited about this new opportunity and look forward to developing and continuing to expand the existing FET provision .”

In congratulating Aiden on his appointment, Donegal ETB’s , Chief Executive Anne McHugh said, ” I am thrilled to welcome Aiden to the FET Senior Management Team to which he will bring a wide and varied breadth of experience and knowledge. His input will greatly enhance and contribute to the extensive work plan in the Further Education and Training Service of Donegal Education and Training Board. I wish him well as he embarks on his new role and look forward to working with him for the communities of Co Donegal .”

Donegal ETB is the largest education and training provider in the county with over 34,000 students and 1,500 staff across the county and its islands, along with an annual budget of over €100 million.

Aiden took up his position in January .
