Main pic: Rosses AC Master ladies team who secured 6th  place at the National Cross Country Championships, securing bronze medals for Donegal.

The weekend just past saw a number of Rosses AC athletes make the journey to the National Masters Cross Country and Juvenile B Championships in Westport.

In the masters ladies race over 4k, there was a strong start by the Leevale ladies from Cork.

However, Helen McCready made sure they knew she was on their heels from very early on. Helen got herself into the lead pack and pushed the leaders on throughout the race.

Fionnuala and Bernie have demonstrated a fantastic running partnership in nearly every race this season and Sunday last  was no different. The two were shoulder to shoulder for the majority of the race. Both gained positions throughout the laps to do themselves and the club proud.

The team was rounded out by Selina who kept the head to run a very smart race. The girls finished sixth team overall and were instrumental in pushing Donegal to bronze county medal position.

Isa Bonner and Deacon Parker who both competed at the All Ireland B Championships in Westport.

In the juveniles races both Deacon Parker and Isa Bonner were out of their age groups but were determined to get the race in and both ran really well with both in the top 40 places in large fields. Well done to all that travelled and represented the club so well.

On Friday evening last the presentation of the cheques to the charities and clubs who benefitted from the Quid Games event was held by Dungloe CLG. Kelly Gallagher did a tremendous job and not only raised money for Dungloe CLG but also raised money for Rosses AC. A huge well done to Kelly and thanks from all in the club. This weekend sees the track and field season kick off with the Winter Classic at the Aura in Letterkenny on Saturday with a 10:30am start for all our juveniles. Entries for the Ulster indoors are now being taken which will take place in Athlone on March 1st and 2nd so get your names and events to Rosaleen McGarvey.
