Portsalon Golf Club appoints third female President in 134 years!

Mrs Mae Blaney has taken over the position as President of Portsalon Golf Club for the next two years from Donal Callaghan.

She becomes just the third lady to hold this position in the club’s 134-year history, following in the historic footsteps of Kathleen McCormick and Betty Boal.

Mae has been a long standing member of the club and has held many positions from Lady Captain to various roles on committee for many years.

Lady Captain, Roisin McCormack, and the ladies branch wish Mae every success in her new role as she represents the club at various levels for the next couple of years. 

“Thanks is also extended to Donal for all his work in promoting Portsalon over the past two years,” a club spokesperson said.
