Learn about Dunkineely’s rich folklore in unique new course

Dunkineely Community Limited (DCL) will run a  unique six-week course on ‘Introduction to Local Folklore’. 

Join the course to learn about the rich tapestry of our local cultural heritage. Learn about legends, lores, cures and practices that define our community. Perfect for history enthusiasts, storytellers and the curious. Beginners welcome. Course takes place in Dunkineely Community Centre, from 20 th March, Thursdays 6.30 – 8.30pm , total course cost is €10. Places are limited, so book your place via dunkineelycommunity@gmail.com or by calling 085 255 3225.

St. Patrick’s Parade

A meeting is taking place in Mac’s Bar in Dunkineely to discuss the Dunkineely St. Patrick’s Parade. Meeting takes place on Wednesday 5 th March at 7.30pm. If you would like to help organise the upcoming parade, then feel free to join us at the meeting. This year the St Patrick’s Parade will be taking place on 15 th March from 1.30pm.

Table Quiz

A Table Quiz is taking place in McIntyre’s Bar on Saturday 29 th March at 8.30pm. Tables of 4 @ €5 per person. Proceeds are in aid of Christmas lights, to keep the town lit up and add more to the Donegal side of Dunkineely this year.

Bruckless National School – Cash for Clobber

You can help raise funds for the school by donating unwanted clothing, shoes (pairs), handbags and belts.

Donations can be left into the school up until Friday 21st March. Pillows and duvets cannot be accepted for hygiene reasons. Contact 074 973 7366 for further information.

Killaghtee National School

Killaghtee NS invites you to join them for their annual Table Quiz on Saturday 22 nd March at 7.30pm in Dunkineely Community Centre. All proceeds go to supporting our school’s programmes and activities.

Refreshments available and there will be a raffle on the night with great prizes.

Dunkineely Methodist Church

There will be a table quiz and auction on Saturday 8 th March at 8pm in the Dunkineely Methodist Hall. Tables of 4 people, costing €20 per table. Supper will be served and everyone is welcome.

Church Services

Catholic Church: Church of St Joseph and St Conal Newsletter available online at: tiny.cc/PBNL

Church of Ireland: The Sunday service will be at 10:45am.

Methodist Church: Normal Sunday Services will be held at 10:30am in Dunkineely and 12 noon in Ardara.
