Gardaí say they are ‘aware’ of allegations of eggs and other missiles being thrown at vehicles passing through Drumkeen village at the weekend.
One motorist alleged their car was pelted, and damaged, following an attack on Saturday night.
The incident occurred at around 11:30 pm when they were driving past the Our Lady of Mary monument, along the main Letterkenny to Ballybofey road.
“My car was hit with eggs and stones, causing damage to my bonnet and windscreen,” they said.
“The egg splashed all over the windscreen and impaired my visibility. It could have easily put someone off the road.”
Other motorists had also reported seeing children throwing items at passing vehicles.
A spokesperson for the Garda Press Office said Gardaí are aware of an alleged incident but that a formal statement has yet to be received.
