Gardaí have issued a fresh appeal over the fatal west Donegal crash at the weekend which claimed the lives of two young friends.

Shaun McClafferty (17) and Jamie Diver, who was in his 20s, were killed when a car they were travelling in collided with the gable wall of a house in the townland of Baltoney, Gortahork,  just before 9.30pm on Friday night.

Two other passengers in the car were also seriously injured. One of those young men has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin for further treatment.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the townland of Baltoney between 9pm and 9.30pm on Friday night are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Milford Garda Station on 074 9153060, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
