It was another busy week at the picturesque Buncrana Golf Club.

18 Hole Open Singles Stableford

The competition last weekend was an 18 hole Open Stableford and with the course in excellent condition, it was up to the players to take full advantage. However it is wonderful how a few difficult pin positions and fast greens can keep the scoring in check. Only 8 players out of the whole field managed to hit 36 pts or better. The in-form Mateusz Niedzielski once again took first place with an excellent score of 39 pts on Saturday morning. The gross prize was won by the big hitting Michael Bradley (2) on a break of tie with a 70 gross. Michael who is now settling into his new golfing environment and getting the speed of the greens will be a force to reckon with in the gross category over the coming months.

The full results the 18 Hole Open Stableford Sweep played Saturday 8 th and Sunday 9 th March 2025 are as follows;

1st / Cat 3 Mateusz Niedzielski (29) 39 pts

Gross Michael Bradley (2) 70 gross b.o.t.

Cat 1 Damien Doherty (5) 37 pts b.o.t.

Cat 2 Martin Mc Callion (15) 37 pts b.o.t.

Best Day (Sun) Robert Callaghan (24) 37 pts b.o.t.

Visitor Colum O’Neill (NW) (20) 37 pts b.o.t.

Back 9 Mark Bradley (22) 23 pts
