There is outrage in Buncrana after major damage was caused to the Festival Park in the town, by an apparent vandal who drove through a number of protective fences.

The Festival Park is located on Buncrana’s beautiful Shore Front, and is a play park that is incredibly popular with parents and kids year-round.

In pictures posted to social media, significant damage to the protective fencing can be seen, as well as what appear to be car tyre marks.

Local Councillor Jack Murray has urged anyone with information to come forward – and has also said he will request that the Park is repaired by Donegal County Council as soon as possible.

“Really saddened to see significant damage to the Festival Park at the Shore Front – a place which is enjoyed by so many of us,” Cllr Murray said.

“I’ll be asking that it’s repaired ASAP. And I’d also ask that anyone with any information as to what happened to come forward.”
