The North West 10K charities are entering the final few weeks of their fundraising events ahead of the big race and walk which takes place on Monday 5th of May in Letterkenny.

The 10k Committee has unveiled the new orange t-shirt for the 28th staging of the event which the organisers are hoping will pass the €1 million mark this year.

Multiple Sclerosis Donegal Branch and Donegal Horizons CLG will be the beneficiaries from the 2025 charity run and walk. Among the fundraisers include a Coffee Morning at New Horizons, Carndonagh, this Thursday 17th April and a Coffee Morning in Maggie’s Tavern, St. Johnston, Saturday 26th April (11-2pm).

There is also a Stars in Your Eyes Show in the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny on Thursday 24th April and a Coffee Morning in Kilcar on Thursday 18th, May. Another fundraiser  ongoing is for a jersey signed by the Donegal Senior GAA Team (online). More details on the North West 10k Facebook Page.

All monies raised stays in Donegal to benefit local organisations that are doing so much good work.

Online entries are now being taken for the May 5th event by clicking on the link: https://in.njuko.com/north-west-10k-20251732297749168 where runners and walkers will find all the information required.

At back – Cllrs Jimmy Kavanagh, Thomas Sean Devine, Liam Blaney, Donal Coyle, Pauric McGarvey and Michael McBride.

Committee Chairperson Neil Martin is asking for the support of public across Donegal and further afield for two very worthy causes.

“The North West 10k is not far away now on Monday, May 5th. It’s a marvellous community event that has been so well supported down the years. It’s going 27 years and has raised nearly 984,000 euros for 40 charities. We are in sight of the million euros mark and it would be really special to do it this year” Mr Martin said.

The 10k Committee is now encouraging runners, walkers and families to get registered online and avoid the queues on the day.  Multiple Sclerosis Donegal Branch and Donegal Horizons CLG are doing great work across the County and this is a chance for the people of Donegal to come out and support them on Monday, May 5th in Letterkenny.

“Runners, walkers and families have the chance to be part of history on that day as well so I am asking people to go online, click on the link on our social media pages and get registered. I would like again to acknowledge the fantastic support that our sponsors Brian McCormick Intersport, Century Complex, Donegal Daily, Mount Errigal Hotel and the Value Centre have been giving us this year. We have also got great backing from the local Cllrs in the past and that is continuing this year ” Mr Martin said.
