Main pic: A Cutting Edge Homes project in progress on a spectacular Donegal site.

Cutting Edge Homes is nestled in the scenic surroundings of the Gaeltacht in Upper Dore in Gweedore, Donegal.

A new name in homebuilding, it has certainly been making waves – a timber frame and modular home company led by experienced craftsmen Paul Roarty and Tom McHugh together with their team. Though the business is just two years young, the foundations are solid, built on over five decades of combined experience in construction and carpentry.

See BEFORE and AFTER images below:

Paul, a lifelong local and Tom, a Mayo man, who Donegal has now claimed, the master craftsmen bring a wealth of hands-on knowledge to every project. From their early days swinging hammers to now managing full-scale home builds, their reputation has been built the old-fashioned way — through hard work, skill, and trust.

Specialising in Timber Frame Homes, the company offers a comprehensive range of services, from supply and fit packages to fully completed turnkey homes, tailored to the individual needs of each client. Whether it’s a modern  modular design or a traditional-style family home, their focus is on quality, sustainability, and efficiency at every step.

What sets Cutting Edge Homes apart is not just the craftsmanship, but the personal touch. Every home is treated as if it were their own — with meticulous attention to detail, clear communication, and a commitment to getting it right the first time.

Operating from their office/workshop in Upper Dore, Paul and Tom are proud to be part of a growing movement in Irish construction – blending the strength of timber frame building with the flexibility of modular design to deliver homes that are not only beautiful, but built to last.

For those looking to build in Donegal or beyond, this is a team that brings both tradition and innovation to the table, with a deep understanding of what makes a house truly feel like home.
