National: Teenager dies after car enters river in Tipperary

A teenage girl has died in a tragic single-vehicle collision in Tipperary.

The incident took place last night at Kilmoyler, Cahir.

The car, driven by a female adult teenager, left the road at a bridge and entered the River Aherlow.

The teenager’s body was recovered from the water this morning by members of the Garda Water Unit and has been removed from the scene to the mortuary where a post mortem examination is due to take place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
