A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital yesterday following a collision near Malin Town in Inishowen.

The collision between a lorry and a motorcycle occurred on Monday afternoon on the R242 road between Lagg and Malin.

The motorcyclist, a woman aged in her 30s, was conveyed to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries sustained as a result of this incident.

The road remains closed today (Tuesday) pending technical examination of the scene.

Diversions are in place for local traffic and gardaí have advised that HGVs should travel via the Black Mountain route.
