Homes and businesses in Donegal Town were hit with water outages and low pressure this Friday afternoon following a significant burst to the water main supplying Drumrath Reservoir.
Customers in Donegal Town, Ardeskin, Milltown East, Laghey, Murvagh and surrounding areas were impacted by the incident.
Uisce Eireann dispatched expert water service crews to the site, “with every effort being made to complete this work as quickly as possible.”
“Works are scheduled to take place until late tonight,” a spokesperson said.
Uisce Éireann’s Damien O’Sullivan thanked affected customers for their cooperation while these repair works are being carried out.
“We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we regret the inconvenience caused. We would like to thank impacted customers for their patience while we work to restore the water supply as quickly as possible.”
Typically, it takes three to four hours following repairs for supply to restore to customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, some customers may be impacted until tomorrow by reduced pressure while the network recharges.
