Donegal-based chef and author Daniel Lambert has launched his own RTE cooking show!
The Leitrim native, who rose to fame on TikTok, has a new culinary series on RTE Player called Look Who’s Hangry, in partnership with Heinz.
Over six episodes, Daniel invites well-known content creators into his kitchen, where he takes their unconventional cravings and transforms them into next-level dishes.
On the series, he said: “It’s chaotic, it’s hilarious, and it’s full of food – basically everything that happens when you’re hangry and creative at the same time. We took mad ideas, ran with them, and somehow made them taste unreal.
“Look, I never thought turning chaos into cuisine would be my full-time job but here we are. Fronting this series is wild: the ideas are mad and the flavours bang. If your eyes aren’t watering from the spice or the feels, I’ve done something wrong.”
Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Arts from ATU Killybegs (formerly LYIT), Daniel was a full-time chef in a leading Donegal hotel when the pandemic struck. With work halted, he turned to TikTok, sharing food tips and tempting homemade dishes. His comfort food recipes resonated perfectly with the times, quickly attracting hundreds of thousands of followers and transforming his career through the world of social media.
In 2022, Lambert launched his first cookbook, Lush, where he shares the secrets to truly delicious home cooking.
On Look Who’s Hangry, Daniel’s off-the-cuff sense of humour ensures that, as well as some incredible dishes, entertainment is at the heart of the show.
You can stream all episodes of Look Who’s Hangry now on the RTÉ Player.
