A new Garda Inspector has been introduced to the county during his first sitting of Letterkenny District Court.
Garda Inspector Shane Fennell is to be stationed in the Letterkenny Divisional District for the foreseeable future.
Inspector Fennell previously served in various roles within An Garda Siochana in Co Louth.
He was welcomed to the county by Judge Eiteain Cunninghgam.
Judge Cunningham remarked that legal practitioners in the county were very able and that they will certainly “put you through your paces.”
She added that his time in the county will be a wonderful challenge and told him to feel free to ask the court for any direction he needed.
ON behalf of the legal profession, solicitor Frank Dorrian remarked that all officers of the court got on very well.
He quipped that Inspector Fennell could expect a “moderate level of cooperation.”
Inspector Fennell thanked those for their warm welcome to the county and said he looked forward to however long he was posted in Donegal.
